Institutional statement
The Christian Council of Clergies Worldwide expresses profound concern over reports of mothers in refugee camps in Chad experiencing devastating losses of their babies amid severe humanitarian hardship.
We extend our prayers and solidarity to affected families and call for urgent, practical humanitarian assistance.
A suffering mother needs support, a vulnerable child deserves protection, and no family should be abandoned.
Biblical foundation
“Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction.”
“Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.”
James 2:17 reminds us that faith without works is dead. Christian responsibility requires prayer, generosity and practical action. Vulnerable mothers must not be blamed for circumstances arising from displacement, poverty or inadequate healthcare.
Call to action
CCC Worldwide, in strategic affiliation with the Christian Association of Clergies in Nigeria (CACN), appeals to churches, clergy, philanthropists, corporate organisations, humanitarian agencies and compassionate individuals to support credible relief in Chad.
Food and nutrition
For mothers, infants and displaced families.
Healthcare
Maternal and infant care, and essential medicines.
Clean water and sanitation
To reduce preventable illness.
Emergency shelter and necessities
Including blankets and clothing.
Family protection
Support for bereaved mothers and vulnerable children.
Humanitarian partnerships
So assistance is delivered responsibly.
Financial support
Every contribution can help relieve suffering, protect vulnerable lives and restore hope.
Donations must be documented, transparently managed and accounted for, with appropriate reporting on the use of funds. Credible humanitarian partners should help ensure assistance reaches those genuinely in need.
After 30 November 2026, CCC Worldwide, in coordination with CACN, will undertake donation reconciliation, documentation and preparation of accountability records. Timely gifts support responsible planning.
“Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.”
